What Is Whiplash?

Whiplash is a neck injury caused by a sudden, forceful back-and-forth movement of the neck, similar to the cracking of a whip. It most commonly occurs during rear-end auto accidents but can also result from sports injuries, falls, or other trauma. Whiplash can damage the muscles, ligaments, tendons, discs, and nerves in the cervical spine.

Symptoms of Whiplash
